DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD OUTLINE

Updated: Apr 2, 2023

In this blog post, I will talk about the planning and ideas I have for my double page spread.

According to the information gathered in the Target Audience Questionnaire, people are more interested in culture & entertainment. Mostly, people reported they will want to see content related to those categories represented through a list of recommendations, travel tips, things to do, best of, must see, ...). Therefore, in order to cater to their interest for my double page spread, I chose to do an article that will showcase those aspects:

My target audience is 80% female and almost 60% of the responses were reported as traveling with the family. So in terms of representation, family should be the focus of the places features (family-friendly restaurants, hotels, parks, beaches, and activities).

Objective:

Motivate interest in visiting Miami's must-see places (through an expert Miami native... Me).

Quote

"I’ve always thought myself extremely lucky to have been born and raised in Miami, but also lucky to have left to Los Angeles for 3 years. It is in the leaving that I learned to see my hometown’s influences on me, and on the ways I experience the city, and the rest of the world."

Bonus (2 more places)

Here is a visual of how I think the layout of the double page spread will look. I tried to accommodate the idea of what I needed to say in a way that was simple and easy to read, along with adding lots of pictures. Generally speaking, people are visual, and I think having lots of pictures in the must-visit article, will encourage my audience to read and be interested in visiting those places recommended.

My DPS outline was inspired in this spread from Souther Living magazine 2022
