Throughout this process, I have been able to recognize distinct differences throughout different genres, as well as the ways they are presented. When doing my first photoshoot, my genre was interior design. I learned that interior design shots should mostly have bright lighting, and to always pay attention to details. The spaces need to be organized, there can’t be clutter and the colors of the elements in the space should come together in an harmonious way. The lighting is very important and elevates the overall look and feel of the interiors. My second photoshoot genre was travel. For this photoshoot, I was able to play around with a variety of colors in the shots which reflect and translate in a vibrant place, inviting, and that makes you want to go and visit.
I have decided to choose “travel” as my final magazine genre choice. I love the composition, colors and the “life” of the pictures I took, and I really liked the final outcome of my photoshoot, so I would like to further pursue that. I would like to feature Miami in my magazine as it is such a vibrant, colorful and multicultural city. I am happy with this decision because even though I was born here in Miami, there is always a new place to visit and explore, and there is always something happening here. I would like to try playing around with more angles and lighting when taking my pictures and photographing different and new spots for when I’m creating my magazine content.
In my magazine, I will be focusing mainly on Miami in this magazine issue so it will be a special edition by an exclusive local blogger (me) so it will be unique and stand out from other magazines. I will go into detail about what makes Miami special: beautiful beaches, non-stop nightlife, luxurious shopping malls and high end hotels, Art Deco architecture, unique gastronomy and skyline.
I will be targeting tourists (international and US travelers), and those who are interested in learning more about the latest happenings here and trendy places to visit. Men and women between the ages of 30-60 with an established job and above average economic situation that will be able to afford recommendations and tips for their travels.
In essence, I hope my magazine is as valuable to others as it is to me and there is always something new happening in Miami and I really like to be part of it. I feel enthusiastic towards moving forward with my magazine and I hope to learn even more in the process.
